Our Victorian Brushed Mohair sets a standard for brushed yarns: light enough to lend a truly airy feeling, yet substantial enough to work easily... at least as easily as can be expected from any brushed yarn. Plan on using with the Victorian 2-ply and Bouclé.

Weavers: While strong enough for warp, we suggest warping Victorian Brushed Mohair alternately with a smooth yarn to reduce the natural tendency for brushed yarns to stick together - this will make both warping and weaving easier. Also consider weaving twills rather than tabby to minimize the stickiness of the yarn and give the finished fabric more body. When using brushed yarns in the weft, boat shuttles may not be your best choice; the yarn's fuzziness can cause the bobbin to snag. Try ski shuttles instead.

Knitters: Substitute in a worsted to bulky weight pattern when warmth and fluff are what you want. Couldn't be prettier, or easier. Double-strand any two Victorian styles together on size 10 or 101/2 needles at 3 sts/inch for a lovely "designer" bulky yarn. Knitters and weavers don't forget to give your finished product a gentle brushing to re-raise the nap and fuzz of the mohair.

Care - Hand wash in cool water or dry clean. Lay flat to dry.
