Polished stones reveal inner patterns of color and texture. Use silk to capture light and add dimension. Gemstone Silks are made of the finest Chinese silk fibers. Spun in Switzerland and dyed in the United States, these silk yarns meet the industries highest standards. Keep in mind that silk has almost no elasticity and minimal shrinkage. Silk will not full or “bloom” in finishing. Weavers, your warp sett should reflect this and be closer than for wool. Silks may be dry cleaned or hand washed. If the finished product needs to be pressed, do so while barely damp. Gauge for 157: Use doubled or with a fine wool on standard gauge knitting machines.
