The subtle beauty of nubby, blended, handspun in a soft, silk/wool blend with no effort (well...placing an order). Noro's fabulous color-blended yarns are world renowned and are now easily available. The process of creation is elaborate but all you really need to know is that the color changes are quite gradual and, depending on the width of a knitted piece, can be used for unusual effects creating a muted patchwork look. In weaving the subtle variation will add interest in either warp or weft. (May be a little delicate for novices as warp)
