Peace Fleece has a wonderful story that we are proud to share with you. In 1985, a local Maine sheep farmer decided to do what he could to foster peace between the Soviet (yes, back when there was a communist Soviet Union) and American people. After a trade mission to the Soviet Union, it was decided to spin a yarn with a combination of the two countries' wool. In 1992, the wool was combined with mohair to create a unique yarn that is incredibly warm and has a soft glowing halo of lustrous mohair. Use this woolen spun yarn in all your favorite worsted weight knitting patterns. Weavers will enjoy using it alone or blended with other yarns. The color range is a unique blend of traditonal and modern solids, heathers, and tweeds - something for everyone. Peace Fleece is now prewashed.
