Geo, a one ply singles, is designed to be similar in size and color to Deco. Both yarns are dyed together to produce tone variations in the same shades. Because Geo is dyed on natural heathered grey, its rich colors have an earthy and ethnic appeal.
Geo has just the right amount of twist; neither overspun, nor underspun. It's actually spun from two slivers or rovings as they come out of the carding machine. This "double rove" construction creates a strong yarn without the need for excessive twist. You will find it well suited for a variety of fiber arts. Weavers will enjoy using Geo in rug and tapestry designs. It lays nicely into any weft-faced weave. However, in some instances you may need to manually arrange the slack to insure proper coverage of the warp. Because of its strength and homespun appearance, consider Geo for upholstery, heavy blankets, bed spreads, and rugged outwear.
Knitters, Geo is ideal for sturdy outdoor sweaters and jackets. Let the color line suggest the pattern and design. When knit on smaller needles, mittens made with it are dense and warm. Geo will soften a little after washing and wearing, but it will still be a bit coarser than most knitting yarns.
Whether it's subtle shading or detailing backgrounds, Geo's smaller size and muted colors will work well for hooking and punching. Geo is wonderful for chair and pillow covers, wall hangings and rugs.
